African American Historical Figures, Places & Events: Gwen Ifill

Gwen Ifill born in Queens, New York went on to have a very accomplished career. Some of her greatest accomplishments were being the first African American to host a national political show on TV and moderate a vice-presidential debate (Sarah Palin vs Joe Biden 2008). She has also received numerous journalism awards and more than 20 honorary doctorates from universities world wide. She was also honored in 2020 with her image being placed on a U.S. Stamp.
