African American Historical Figures, Places & Events: Jesse L. Brown

In another episode of African American Historical Figures, Places & Events, Soul Toucha the Poet gives you a brief history on Jesse L. Brown who was the first African American to complete U.S. Naval flight training during the heavily racial period of the 1950's. Although he attended segregated Eureka High School in Hattiesburg, MS and Ohio State University, he completed both with high honors. He continued to progress in the U.S. Navy until his death when he was shot down in the Korea War in 1950.
