The one thing that I don’t hear is that we should use black history month as a catalyst to look into our history. No one seems to be encouraged to promote our history on their own at any other time of the year. Does that beg to ask if the efforts of Carter G. Woodson were in vain. That could also be posed to the accomplishments of the African American student body at Kent State University who were instrumental in establishing Black History Month.
